Effective February 1, 2013, all articles requested through Interlibrary Loan will be delivered to you electronically. You will no longer need to pick these up at the library.
You will receive an email when the article has been received, providing you with instructions on how to "pick up" the article, using a link to a website. This is commonly referred to as a "post to web" delivery method.
Are you a Mac alum? Wondering how you can access various library services now that you are no longer a currently registered student? Check out our new Alumni Library Services page. Here you will find information on getting an Alumni Library Card, signing out and renewing books, accessing a small suite of e-resources which permit remote access for alumni, and lots more.
Graduate students can now borrow books for 3 months at a time, with 2 renewals. The library received several comments over the fall term requesting this change in recognition of the in-depth research work graduate students are undertaking. Books can still be recalled by other users and must be returned within 5 days to avoid paying Overdue Recall fines.
This year you have lots of options when it comes to late night studying during exams.

We know that there are never enough hours to get those last minute facts and figures into your head. To help with this, the Mills Learning Commons and all of Thode Library will be open 24/7 from December 2 to December 20, 2011.
All three libraries (Mills, Innis and Thode) will run their normal extended hours for the three weeks during the exam time period, which includes opening @ 8am Saturday's and Sunday's and staying open until 11pm on Friday and Saturday's.
Over the next few weeks, you will see several changes made to the lobbies of Mills, Thode and Innis libraries.
All three libraries will have their entrance/exit turnstiles replaced with bi-directional corridors - no more having to figure out which is IN and which is OUT!
Additionally, the service desk on the main floor of Mills is being replaced. For a few weeks we will offer our services from a temporary service desk located a bit further into the library. The self check-out machines have also been relocated near the New Book Display area.
In an effort to increase student awareness of sustainable printing practices at the McMaster Libraries, we want your feedback.
During the week of September 26th, 2011, please take a few minutes to complete the following student printer survey. With the help of your comments and recommendations we hope to make printing and copying on campus easier on the environment and easier on you.
The Map Library will close at 5pm on Wednesday August 31st, re-opening in its new location at the east end of the 1st floor of Mills Library, at 9am on Wednesday September 21st.
If you need urgent assistance during this time, please call extension 24745 and we will do our best to help.

On August 8th, RefWorks @ McMaster will move from the current 'classic' interface to the new '2.0' interface. Don't panic, though - this switch is decorative, and will not affect any of the features you're used to.
