F.7 Service record of a Jewish officer, Captain Bendersky Boris
Zaharovich, covering the period 1932-1951. There are two photographs,
one is pasted on the document, the other, much larger, is loose. Document
appears to be in Russian.
F.8 Service record of Gerzou Henoch [?] a Jewish reservist, issued
in 1932 in Warsaw, Poland.
F.9 Road/Rail Pass: issued to Jacob Brodsky, by the Commanding
Forces in Palestine, with photograph, 26 April 1939
F.10 Road/Rail Pass: issued to Joel Tabor, by the Commanding Forces

F.11 Curfew Pass: issued to David Toporovsky, 15 August 1939 by

in 1946 (stamped on cover), with photograph. The date 1948 appears on
the inside cover.
F.14 Exit certificate: issued to Carl Heine, allowing him to leave
Camp Westerbork, 18 June 1945, by the military authorities in charge
of the camp.

F.18 Passport (interim): issued to Heiman Rubin by Israel, 4 June
1950, with photograph
F.19 Police registration form: issued to Chaim Podchlebnik of Wartbruken,
Poland, identifying him as Jewish. The questions on the form are in
German and Polish; it contains Rubin’s fingerprint as well as a
stamp with the Nazi swastika, and a Star of David stamp. The date of
issue is not on the form.
F.20 Police, certificate of discharge: issued to Ebert Abraham,
1 April 1944, by the Palestine Police Force.
Registration forms: the following two forms are identical, completed
by different people. Both Jewish men resided in Lemberg, also known
as Lviv, now in Urkraine. Questions are posed in German, Ukrainian and
Polish. Both forms are stamped with the Star of David.
F.21 Ignas Kund, registered 7 March 1942, with photograph. There
is a second smaller form in this file, issued in Krakow, Poland, which
appears not related.
F.22 Benjamin Seider, registered 16 March 1942, with photograph

Trade Union documents
F.27 Hungarian Trade Union membership: issued to Ference Stettner,
in Budapest, Hungary, 10 Nov. 1925. Stettner was apparently identified
as a Jewish member.
F.28 Workers Union membership signed by D. Ben-Gurion: issued on
21 March 1935 to a worker in Palestine; his name appears in Hebrew and
has been translated as Mr. Zusselman. He was born in 1915. The names
of his parents, Elia and Shoshana are also given in the document. Closing
stamp is dated 1963.
F.29 Histadrut membership: issued in 1939 to a worker in Palestine;
his name is given in Hebrew and has been translated as Dr. Karseni,
with photograph. He was born in 1902.The date 1959 is stamped inside
the permit book.
F.30 Eretz-Israel trade union card: issued on 22 November 1962 to
a worker in Palestine; his name is given in Hebrew and has been translated
as Chaim Yitzkh, with photograph. He was born in 1917.
F.31 University identification document: issued to Karel Klein on
22 Nov. 1935, a student at Karlova University in Prague, with photograph.
Document is in Czech and Latin. The date of 30 Nov. 1946 is also on
the document.
Other
F.32 A notebook stamped “K.L. Buchenwald”, 26 May 1945,
issued to prisoner number 630. The notebook appears to have been mainly
used for messages from fellow inmates.

These postcards and letters were found with and inside the covers listed
in Box 3. They were removed from there because they contain text. The
exception is the collection of documents regarding the Norman family
– it was not part of the covers group.

mother Jadwiga Norman (nee Kejsman), 1945-1980. Includes photographs

Notes on covers:
There are approximately 400 of them which have been arranged into country
of origin. Sellers’ information is tucked inside the envelopes.
If envelope sealed, in the information is clipped to it. Some covers
had no sellers’ information. Each cover was checked for correspondence
inside; these have been removed and are described in Box 2. Dates are
approximate; insufficient time to check each postmark.

Correspondence, documents, and photographs:
F.1 United Jewish Butchers union, letter written in Lodz, Poland,
24 April 1926. The language is supposedly Yiddish.
F.2 Document, possibly a birth certificate, issued in Russia,
containing two dates, 1889 and 1911. It was used as proof of age because
it is stamped in English with an Old Age Security number. The document
has been torn in half. It was found in the same plastic cover as a b&w
photograph of a Jewish couple in traditional dress; the photograph is
pasted on a grey board.
F.3 B&w photograph pasted on board of a couple. Written on
the verso is “Mr & Mrs. Joseph and Sarah Abrams, converts to Judism
[sic]”; n.d., 1900-1920?. Also written on the verso are the names of
their children, as well as Syracuse, possibly Syracuse, New York.
F.4 Volleyball team b&w photographs: Men’s Volleyball team
House League champions, 1949-50, taken by Drummond; the photo is creased
and torn and has been mended with tape. Y.M.H.A. Men’s Volleyball Team
taken by a Studio (name illegible), 1949-50; the men’s team logo is
a “Y” inside a Star of David inside a Canadian maple leaf. Women’s Volleyball
team, Y.W.H.A., 1949-50; logo contains a Canadian maple leaf. There
are two sizes of this photograph, both are creased and one is torn.
F.5 Y.M.H.A. B.&P. Volleyball team champions, Province of
Quebec, 1945-46. Each team member has a separate image with their names
printed underneath. Caricature also appears. Pasted on board.
