Writing

Writing magazine fonds. -- 1980-1982. -- 75 cm of textual records, graphic material and sound recordings.

Writing magazine was begun by the poets David McFadden (1940-) and Fred Wah (1939-), at the David Thompson University Centre in Nelson, British Columbia, in 1980. Though it began as part of the creative writing programme there, it is not a student magazine. It has published the work of Canadian writers such as Margaret Atwood, Susan Musgrave, and George Bowering, among others.

The fonds is arranged into two series: correspondence and manuscripts received, and layout and paste-up materials for issues 1-5, Summer 1980 to Spring 1982. Researchers are also directed to the separate David McFadden fonds.

Fonds was acquired from David McFadden via Acadia Bookstore, Toronto in November 1982.
