Mol, Hans, 1922-

Hans Mol fonds. -- 1953-1988. -- 4.65 m of textual records.

Johannis (Hans) Mol, professor and author, was born in Rozenburg, The Netherlands, on 14 February 1922. He was educated at the United Theological Faculty in Sydney, Australia, the Union Theological Seminary in New York, and Columbia University in New York. He lectured in sociology at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand from 1961-1963 and was a fellow in sociology at the Institute of Advanced Studies of the Australian National University from 1963 until he arrived at McMaster University in 1970. He is the author of several books on the sociology of religion. After his retirement he was named Professor Emeritus of Religious Studies.

The fonds is organized into the following series: Manuscripts and correspondence related to Hans Mol'sl books; Unpublished material and draft copies of articles; Correspondence with other professors, students and religious institutions; teaching files.
