Gerald Blake served with the London Rifle Brigade, British Expeditionary Force during the First World War.

The fonds consists of letter that Gerald Blake wrote to his mother and to his brother, Clive Blake, of London, England, concerning his experiences on the Western front. There are also a few letters from Angus Macmillan to Clive Blake. Macmillan was also at the front.
