F. 4 Thomas Carlyle's notebook. Entries include farm accounts, poems, notes on Greek and Latin and religious texts. Many of the entries are dated, with the dates ranging between 1888 and 1919.

F. 5 3 envelopes (only) addressed to Alexander Carlyle at Bield, near Brantford, Canada West. [From J.A. Carlyle?]. All are from Dumfries, Scotland and are postmarked 1866.
